I have the honour to request your authority
in accordance with Colonial Regulation 281 for the
expenditure of the sum of $22,132 to supplement Head
34 Public Works Extraordinary, Hong Kong, Communications,
Sub-head 24, Widening of Magazine Gap Road between May
Road and Stubbs Road, under which sub-head $60,000 is
provided in the Estimates for 1934.

Of this sum $7,350 is in respect of
increased cost owing to realignment and additional work
necessitated by the nature of the ground and on account
of saturation by heavy rains during the summer.
The remainder, $14,782, is a revote of
the balance of the sum approved in respect of 1933 but unexpended during that year.

The expenditure of this sum has been
recommended by the Finance Committee of the Legislative
Council, whose report will be submitted for adoption at
the next meeting of Council.

The total required can be met from savings
